Language school

Students who have not been able to study for a language will not be disadvantaged when applying for entry to UCL

Sir, Although a GCSE or equivalent in a foreign language at Grade C or above would fulfil our criteria for language qualifications needed for UK students applying for 2012 entry to UCL, we want to stress that students who have not been able to study for a language will not be disadvantaged in the application process (report, Jan 26).

Those who do not have a GCSE or equivalent in a foreign language will be able to meet the requirement through attendance at a UCL language summer school, taking a language course as part of their degree or studying for a language certificate at UCL’s Language Centre.
