A map of cycling blackspots highlighted by Times readers will be used to allocate £15 million of funding to improve dangerous road junctions, ministers have said. More than 10,000 people used the map to highlight the worst roads and to recommend improvements as part of this newspaper’s Cities Fit For Cycling campaign.

Norman Baker, the Transport Minister, said that the findings, along with accident data, would be used to help to determine which blackspots would receive additional funding.
