Nick Clegg has said that Ed Balls is the only politician he is prepared to insult personally.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he preferred to make sure that his arguments focused on policy. But he “made an exception” for the Shadow Chancellor.
The Liberal Democrat leader made the confession during a Christmas edition of his weekly show on LBC Radio, broadcast from Great Ormond Street Hospital for children in London.
Answering questions from a group of young people, Mr Clegg was asked how he won people over in debates.
