Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announce royal baby’s due date

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child is due in April, Kensington Palace announced yesterday.

The child, who will be fifth in line to the throne, is due to arrive just before Princess Charlotte’s third birthday in May.

It has not yet been announced where the couple plan to have the baby, but there is no suggestion that they will not use the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, where their first two children were born.

The announcement means that the duchess, 35, is assumed to have had her 12-week scan and seen an ultrasound image of the baby.

The couple’s planned trip to Norway and Sweden has been postponed until early next year because of the duchess’s pregnancy. She is suffering
