How to prevent hair loss and have thicker hair

Half of us go through hair loss at some stage in our life, and anyone who has lost some — or all — of their hair will attest to the devastating impact it can have. In fact, we’re so paranoid about what to do when we notice it that “hair loss” is now a consistently popular beauty search term on Google.

Typically, we lose about 100 hairs a day, but it can be exacerbated by stress, illness, poor nutrition, medicines or hormonal changes. Thankfully, it is reversible. But the other type of hair loss, where your scalp gradually becomes more visible, is mostly genetic, trickier to treat and has long been associated with ageing — and now the occurrence in much younger women is rising.
