Thousands of residents are set to be evacuated from potentially dangerous tower blocks after “combustible cladding” was found encasing at least 11 buildings across the country.
Tenants may have to wait a week to find out whether they are at risk of a fire like the one that swept through Grenfell Tower on June 14, as councils scrambled to test all 600 high-rises with cladding in England.
