A retired couple have turned their ten-bedroom home into a school for bullied children after being inspired by the tragic story of a teenager who committed suicide.

Fred Morgan, 94, and his wife, Vivian, 72, share their £850,000 home in Warwickshire with 19 pupils, about half of whom have repeatedly attempted to take their own lives.

The Morgans established Northleigh House School in Hatton in 2012 after reading about Simone Grice, 15, from Cornwall, who jumped off a road bridge in July 2009. She had been bullied by fellow pupils and neighbours and was found clinging to her mobile phone and a childhood ragdoll.

“It was absolutely dreadful and really upset us,” Mrs Morgan said. “So we thought we could try and create somewhere that
