Jaguar Land Rover says drive into China won’t hit British jobs

Jaguar Land Rover will build both its most successful Range Rover and its bestselling Jaguar model in China but the British car giant has reassured that production will not be diverted from Merseyside and the West Midlands.

The first non-British-built Range Rover yesterday rolled off the production line of the group’s brand new factory in Changshu near Shanghai. While it has been an open secret that Jaguar Land Rover would build the Evoque, its baby Range Rover, in China, it was revealed that it would also build a Jaguar model at the Changshu plant.
