Flotations worth about £3 billion are expected to be unveiled this week as London’s main market heads towards a record-breaking year.

Jimmy Choo, the shoe brand, is expected to lead what could be a bumper week for City advisers as it unveils plans for an estimated £800 million listing.

The RAC breakdown service and Aldermore, the fast-growing “challenger bank”, are also expected to reveal their own flotation proposals.

On present trends, initial public offerings on the London Stock Exchange are expected to raise a record £11.7 billion this year. The previous high, of £8.7 billion in 2011, was helped in large part by the listing of Glencore.

The expected rush of activity is being attributed to relief in the City at last week’s victory for
