The Tories lost further ground to Ukip today as Benefits Street star White Dee said she would vote for Nigel Farage’s party.

Deirdre Kelly, her proper name, made a timely appearance at the Conservative party conference today as George Osborne unveiled his party’s pledge to freeze working age benefits for two years.

She said the plan would worsen the state of the country and would alienate inner-city voters from the Tories, turning more and more people towards Ukip, who were “the only party talking any sense”.

Miss Kelly’s status as jobless, benefit-claiming, single mother made her the central character on the Channel 4 programme earlier this year and has since appeared on a string of other shows, including Celebrity Big Brother.
