Divers drift for seven hours in shark infested waters off Australia

Two American tourists who went missing during a diving expedition off the Great Barrier Reef survived seven hours drifting in shark-infested waters.

The man and woman, who were on a trip to the Ribbon Reef No.10 near Lizard Island, off the north east coast of Australia, were spotted by a helicopter just before 5pm and picked up by a nearby boat. They were treading water about 8 nautical miles from where they were last seen and, according to police, were in “good spirits”.
