Aaron Ramsey faces lengthy spell on the sidelines for Arsenal

Arsenal fear that Aaron Ramsey will be sidelined for four weeks with a thigh strain, ruling the midfielder out for at least six matches.

Ramsey has had a scan to assess the severity of the injury, suffered in the 3-1 comeback win away to West Ham United on Thursday, and would face a longer layoff if it is torn badly.

The blow of losing one of the club’s most influential players this season may be tempered by him being available for some crucial games in February, when Arsenal play Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League.

He will miss matches that include the games against Newcastle Unitedtomorrow and Cardiff City on Wednesday, as well
