The travel group behind the Thomson and First Choice holiday brands is considering spinning off non-core assets with a turnover of about €3 billion.

The Times understands that TUI Group could seek a separate listing for its non-mainstream operations, including brands such as hotelbeds.com, Crystal Ski Holidays and Hayes & Jarvis, while retaining a stake.

The business, which is led by Will Waggott, was split off from the company’s mainstream operations last year after the merger of Britain’s TUI Travel and TUI AG, its German majority shareholder.

While the company’s core tour operator, cruising and resorts businesses are classed as growth businesses, the non-mainstream unit was described as being “managed for value”.
