Jon Moulton has slammed MPs who criticised him over the collapse of City Link and accused them of abusing their “medieval powers” and failing to give him a fair hearing.
The founder of Better Capital, the private equity vehicle that owned the courier group, said that MPs on a joint committee had made “hurtful and unjust” statements about the Christmas Day failure of City Link “with no evidence whatsoever”.
At a time when the political environment is becoming increasingly hostile for business, Mr Moulton delivered a stinging rebuke, telling MPs in a letter: “We appreciate that you operate outside the judicial framework but are dismayed that you chose to operate outside the normal rules of natural justice.
