The Home Office in Westminster has the highest business rates bill in London, with the BBC and the Ministry of Defence also in the top ten.

Daniel Watney, the property consultancy, has found that the Home Office building at 2 Marsham Street has a rateable value of £25 million, which equates to an annual business rates bill of about £12.5 million.

Harrods, the luxury department store in Knightsbridge, was second with £12 million business rates, a tax levied on the occupiers of commercial property and defined by its rental value.
