Ukip published an independent audit of their policy costs alongside their manifesto this morning in a bid to project an image of fiscal responsibility.

Nigel Farage said that the spending and saving commitments in the manifesto were fully costed and independently verified by the Centre for Economics and Business Research think tank, marking a departure from the party’s 2010 manifesto, which he had previously dismissed as “drivel”.

Mr Farage said “we want our country back” and believes Ukip will pave the way for withdrawal, allowing the UK to impose tighter immigration controls and thereby relieve pressure on public services.
