Alex Salmond indicated yesterday that the SNP would guarantee the survival of a minority Labour government without any conditions whatsoever.

The former first minister declared earlier this week that the SNP would bring down a minority Conservative government. He said this would be done as a matter of principle without any attempt at negotiations or agreements between the SNP and the Tories.

But yesterday he appeared to go even further and, in an interview for The Spectator, he implied that he would not do anything to bring down a minority government led by Ed Miliband — whether or not the nationalists had managed to do a deal with Labour.
